Diginexus integrates Princeton eCom Provides bill presentment and payment solution.

Diginexus Inc. Wednesday said it has integrated a bill presentment and payment system for Princeton eCom, an application services provider specializing in business and consumer billing.

Diginexus, a Philadelphia-based consulting and software engineering company, linked together a number of different packages to assemble the Princeton eCom solution, according to Matthew Grove, president of Diginexus. Princeton eCom, which recently acquired Intuit's Quicken Bill Manager, needed an infrastructure to facilitate the electronic billing relationship between Princeton eCom and Intuit.

Grove says the integration project revolved around a BEA Systems WebLogic application server, a Sun Microsystems Forte application server, and an Open Financial Exchange (OFX) server from Home Account Network (acquired by InteliData earlier this year). Diginexus provided the custom code to "hold it all together," Grove says.

OFX, developed by CheckFree, Intuit, and Microsoft, is a specification for the electronic exchange of financial data.

The billing system also employs an authentication mechanism from InsideOut Technologies, an American Management Systems company.

The Princeton eCom project began in January with the goal of having an initial system working by early June. With that objective met, Diginexus plans to provide additional functionality in September or October, according to Grove.
The software code that binds the billing system is the intellectual property of Princeton eCom, but Grove says the principle behind the integration project is replicable. "The understanding of how the system works holistically is very easily applied within this industry" and others as well, Grove says.
